Happy Fucking New Year.

Well, that's one way of spelling it out...

On behalf of this special occasion, I thought I would post my new year's resolutions:
1. Volunteer 2 times a month
2. Get 6 pack abs
3. Stay a vegetarian
4. Go to New York
5. Become a supermodel
But, you know, in no particular order. :)

Best Vegetarian Fast Food

BK's Veggie Burger

Subway's Veggie Max

Over the holiday my mom said to me:

Mother: You still a vegetarian?
Me: Yup.
Mother: Wow...you're really holding on to that one.
:)

Nice. Well, since I've been a vegetarian for two whole months now, I've been dabbled in the vegetarian fast food sector. My results, (in order of preference) are as listed above.
1. BK's Veggie Burger
It's not quite a burger, but it's damn good. They flame broil it, and smother it in cheese-just the way I like it. Order it with fries, and coke, you're good to go. And with only 360 calories, and 13 grams of protein, you know it's a better choice than a Whopper!
2. Chipotle's Vegetarian Burrito
Amazing. That's pretty much all I can say about this one. I can't eat a whole one, but split it with a friend, and a $3 meal isn't bad! (Don't forget to add their ridiculously good lime hinted tortilla chips!)
3. Subway's Veggie Max Sandwich
I'll admit it- I'm not Subway's biggest fan. But this sandwich (be sure to order it with pepper jack cheese) isn't bad. Standing in at 390 for calories (in a 6") it's definitely something I'd put on my go-to list if I were you.

Hope this has helped, and stay tuned for more veggie friendly tips! :)

Photoshoot Last Night

Worked with an amazingly talented photographer last night. We did a photo shoot last night until 2am! I was so excited to work with him because he is an art major, with such a unique eye. You can see some of his work here. It was a lot of fun because we really collaborated. I wanted to do a high fashionish shoot in a laundry room. Me in a gown and dirty laundry scattered about. I am really excited to see how they turned out! We also did a scene on a couch, a couple shots of my tattoo and one with me in a leopard print gown, eerie lighting and a chair. I am stoked to see them, stay posted, I'll have the pics in 2-3 weeks! :)

Relaps #1 / Restaurant Review: Key Bridge Mariott's Revival

photo: Courtesy of the Key Bridge Marriott

Finlay ate in Rosslyn at the Key Bridge Marriott's first floor restaurant, Rivival. Until Dec 31st, on Mondays they have a $6 special. This $6 meal includes a root beer (or orange) float, the 'Mighty Mo' double burger, fries (or onion rings), and a pickle. I've known about this deal for a month now, and I've always said, if I make it out there I have to review that burger! So I made the hike in 30 degree weather the 3 block walk off the orange or blue Rosslyn Metro stop. The wait staff was, all right, the burger tasted like it was straight out of the freezer, and the fries and onion rings were over cookies. But I've got to say it was a damn good root beer float.

Five out of ten rating = "Alright" restaurant.

I might go back and get the Lobster Mac & Cheese I saw on the menu for $12... and a root beer float, but I definitely would not relaps on meat for their burgers.

I'm Getting A Weave!

About this length, maybe a little longer. :) How fun huh?! The salon I worked with for the Howard Runway show, Joya, is doing it for a great price. You may be thinking, weave? Right, but I met with the woman, and she said getting it bonded (aka extensions) is a. bad for your hair, and b. doesn't stay in as long. A weave will stay in for 3 weeks, then you can get it tightened and it can stay in over a month, then you can reuse the hair to get it re-weaved in. If you get it bonded you have to buy more hair when it grows out. I'm so excited I'm getting it done Thursday, so I'll have it for the Capitol Magazine shoot and I'll have some professional pics! :) Stay posted.

I Got Picked To Shoot For Capitol Magazine!

This week I got selected to shot for "Miss Capitol," Capitol Magazine's cover model shoot this Saturday. Out of the models selected, we will all be shot, and the best photograph from the shoot will be awarded the Cover. Other shots will be included in the magazine Features. How fun huh?! There will be several hair and make up people there and I'll get a copy of the pictures on a cd, so stay posted for the pics!

Celeb Gossip

Jennifer on Angelina
Girl Next Door Drama

Jeniffer Anisten Finaly Talks About Jolie
In the December issue of Vogue Jeniffer Anisten finaly says something about that skank Angelina Jolie. Aniston responded to Jolie’s Vanity Fair interview (conducted while Brad Pitt was still married to and living with Jennifer) in which Jolie gushed about how she “couldn’t wait to get to work everyday” on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. In a recent New York Times interview Angelina brought up falling in love with him on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Homewrecker. Here's what Jen had to say in Vogue"
“There was stuff printed there (Jolie's interview with Vanity Fair) that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening. I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss. That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool.”

Hef's GF's Moving On: Girl's Next Door Update

Looks like all three of GND are moving out. The Girls were just three of the seven girlfriends Hef initially had on his arm after his separation from Kimberley Conrad. Kendra's getting married, Holly's getting some magic done, and Bridget is doing some traveling. More detail below:

Kendra Wilkenson got engaged to the Philadelphia Eages' Hank Baskett last weekend atop the Space Needle in Seattle before both families. The couple plan to wed at the Playboy mansion in June.

Holly Madison reportedly told Kendra that she "better be a bridesmaid."
After 7 years of being together Holly Madison also left Hef. "I want to be with somebody I can have more of a future with eventually. Hef and I can't get married and have kids…so it was fun while it lasted but it wasn't right for my old age. I got too old for Hef." She follwed that up with:
"It might be refreshing to date someone who is not high maintenance. Sorry, Hef, you know you're high maintenance." Poor puffin. But it looks like she found that low maintenance guy in Mindfreak's Criss Angel, the former Bunny says, "I'm in love with him." As for Criss and Holly being an "official" couple, Criss said, "We're good friends and we love spending time with each other." And then he added, "Friends with benefits. Yeah!" Nice.

Already forgotten Bridget Marquardt? She is moving on as well. She said “My goal is to be hosting my own show and be happily married with children, so I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately." She is currently out of the mansion and in Europe filming for the Travel Channel's new series called Bridget's Beaches.

Are you feeling bad for the playboy himself? He's already been spotted out with 19 year old Playmate twinsies Karissa and Kristina Shannon. The two (mug shots pictured above) were arrested earlier this year for battery. Nice. The two already live in the mansion, though are not yet "official girlfriends." So don't feel too bad for Hef.

Call of Duty 5 Gamestop Event @ Pentagon City Mall

Tuesday night I went to a Call of Duty 5 launch event at Pentagon City Mall. It was pretty funny, me and 100 nerdy gamers.... I guess that makes me a nerdy gamer. :) But they gave out free shirts, hats, dog tags, RedBull, candy, and obviously, pictures. (Yes that's my attempt at a salute). But it was all in good fun, because the Gamestop event was co-sponsored by the USO and a monetary donation was made by Activision to the USO for every copy of the game purchased that night. So not only were we supporting the troops we even got to play against the them, in a real-time, tournament-style competition 6 vs. 6 via Xbox Live. We played soldiers stationed at Fort Drum, NY, and Marines stationed at 29 Palms, CA. This pre-release party, (the official release was yesterday, Veteran's day, quaint for a WWII themed game), only happened at two locations nation wide, a west coast location in Cali, and here in DC. So we played the game before anyone else, got free stuff, and supported the troops. Nice.
(But I've got to say- I like the game better on PS3, and I hate the dogs. You know what I'm talking about all you gamers.)

Legal Sea Foods Restarant Review

Ok, so I know I'm a vegetarian and I'm not suppose to eat meat, or fish, but I was at Legal Sea Foods! I slipped. But I blame you, the reader. I did it for YOU. :) That disclaimer being said, all and all it was an alright experience. I ordered the fried catfish, and he had the lobster roll. A lot of locals have told us to go there and highly recommended the lobster roll. Well, for the $25 price tag, we should have let them pay. Granit, there were a ton of big chunks of lobster meat, I would have rather had it without the puny roll, and with some butter. I ordered catfish because I didn't think tofu would really show the restaurants true colors. :) Plus I've never had it. It was really good. The outside was crispy, inside juicy and flaky, really enjoyable. I had it with perfectly cooked side of broccoli, amazing tarter sauce, and some cole slaw I didn't finish (KFC's is better). All in all for $10 my meal was a deal, and go for the lobster, but get it in a surf and turf. :) (comming from a vegetarian)

2.5 out of 5 stars

Today I Begin Being a Vegetarian

November 1, 2008. Vegetarian. Or as much as I can. :)

I always talk about animal rights, and how terrible some living conditions are for animals, and how brutaly they are murdered, but this month I am walking the walk. I have been doing...pretty well. Besides a few bites (come on if someone puts a cheeseburger in your face, you might fall off the wagon and take one bite...don't judge me! :) anyways, besides a few bites, I have been doing very well. We'll see how long I can do this for. God knows how much I love steak... And cheeseburgers. But even if I cut out all meat, and fish, and only eat one burger a month, that's a big change. I'm hoping I can stick with it. Holler with some support, you know I need it. :)

Halloween Costume

We were probably the most bad ass zombie couple in DC. So many people were staring at us on the metro, they loved it. It was priceless. We ended up at the M St shitshow, it was the best Halloween I've ever had! The highlight was either the DJ at the bar we went to, DeeJay JBZ (bizwerxmuzik@yahoo.com), or when I bit one of those blood capsules on the metro at 2 in the morning and scared the crap out of a bunch of drunk people. :) Good times.
