Getting Booshie In Vegas

me in a wig

The dress she was kind enough to let me keep!
Seriously, I'm just a nerd who carries a briefcase full of random shit, wheres a tutu, glasses and walks around in the middle of the day with a drink. Meh.
Ginger and I spent all week collecting random shit to put in my party briefcase
Contents include: loto tix, champagne, squirt gun, dirty magazine, shot glasses, and so, SO much more :D
Ginger and I in the VIP @ LAX wearing Booshie

My good friend, and epic designer Ginger of Booshie Design came out to Vegas this week to visit me and do a photo shoot :D And I'm so glad she did, we had a lot of fun! All the above outfits are her designs, and are unedited pics from super fun photog Jerry (TwoHalfs Photography). We did the shoot last night, and he already send me these proofs!! Ginger did the make up and styling, I did the hair. It was one of the harder shoots I've done because it was soooo cold, 48 degrees :O and I was wearing summer dresses. Yeah, cold. It reminded me of this shoot with Bo in the snow. Anyways, so it's hard to think about posing, expression etc when all you can think is any minute you might die of hypothermia :) But it's really fun to see pictures with Vegas in the background, and I'm so happy my first shoot here was with Ginger! AND she gave me the above black dress to keep, score!! Well, we wrapped the shoot last night at about 10:30pm, then from the shoot Ginger and I went to LAX, an awesome club at the Luxor, and somehow made it into a hidden VIP bar and drank PB & J martinis (that were pretty much and orgasm in a cup!) It was a fun shoot, and an awesome night, the perfect ending to a great week with my girl Ginger :) Stay posted for the edited versions of these!

My BFF And Amazing DC Designer Booshie Design Gets Written Up For Being Hot

Awesome photo collage made by the designer herself!!

I met Ginger, phenomenal east coast designer of Booshie Design, at the tanning salon I use to work at in DC. We've been BFF's since day one and I have been fortunate enough to be involved in, and watch Booshie Designs grow exponentially over the past year shooting with amazing photographers like Tony Veloz, Bo Zhang and Visceral Photography. Above are some shots from the last shoot we did together in an amazing mansion in DC before I left. I added the fun little sayings. You know you love them. See some of the tons of other work we've done together here in these blog posts. Recently she was written up on the hot DC blog MurmurDC.com in this amazing article. Ginger is in Vegas this week and I am lucky enough to get to shoot with her out here in my new town, so stay posted for pics from our shoot this week!!

He's friends with roomie Adam Van Wildest (read his epic blog post about attending the event here) We were dropping bottles in the VIP he rented out one night, then playing beer pong with him the next.Too bad his 19 year old girlfriend let everyone back to his $5k a night suite at the Rio but me because she was worried he might like me better. Smart girl ;) Meeting celebs in Vegas on the reg, stay posted for the next one!

Powerisms

“What did I tell you, put something nice on. You look like a busted Daytona stripper.”

“You named your daughter after fucking Titanic? Haha, what’s this one’s name…Shrek?…guess not”

“I’m not going to stop yelling because that would mean, I lost the fight!”

Interviewer: “So Kenny, how do you like playing in New York?” Kenny: “You mean Jew York…its fucking great.”

It's Always A Party With Adam

You know it's a Van Wildest Party when it's nothing but hot chicks.

Serious flip cupping,
Followed by flip cup losers
obviously Katy Perry
Me and the only picture of Van Wildest in full costume. I Win.
Rediculousness.
Um...
Umm...
His profile picture in my phone
6'5 keg stand, thank you Adam
bank robber vs Chuck Norris, who will win
Mr. Bossy pants bossing.
I fucking told you not to say "mine."
Barefoot. Looks dangerous.
Young Weezy make it rain on 'em
Yeah.
Me with a celebrity
A set of stairs at Van Wildest's house aka stairs from hell if you've been drinking and are in 5 inch heels. Hell.
A rarity. Roomate Lois got caught saying "mine" a once in a million chance (she's a pro at the game) and in a sex shop of all places. I was there to catch it. Boom.

My brother and I are in an elite club (that we made up:) called Team Instant Party (TIP). Where ever we are, there is a party. And if anyone exemplifies this as much as we do, it's Mr. Van Wilder himself. If you haven't checked out his website, you're retarded. I've learned in the month I've been in Vegas, that where he is, it's a party. So, Duh, I try to tag along. Well, here is a recap of the lastest aadventure, the Seville House Halloween party, and if you're wondering about all the jumping jacks, you need to know the game of life Stay posted ;)

Saturday Oct 10th

Went to see the riviting 'Capitolism-A Love Story' first movie in Vegas! Then around midnight one of my roomates Alex picked me up. We crusied down the strip caught a quick pic with the iconic Welcome To Vegas sign before heading out to The M hotel and casino to do some Vegas style drinking and gambling. The M, ps, has one of the most amazing and epic pool areas I've ever seen. Note to self- be back for the Pool Parties!! So had some fun getting shitty at the 1 cent machines,(only spent about $10 on tips) then we moved on to black jack where I kept on task with the cocktail waitress, making sure our cups stayed full, and Alex won over $100! After that around 4am we took the party to one of the most uniquie and corky restraunts I've ever been to, Peppermill. I absolutly adore this place!! We got drinks, (duh my signature long island ;) tons of appitizers, watched 90's music videos, and talked about what a successful night it had been! Around 6am we
ended the night crusing the strip laughing at all the drunk tourists. Viva!!

Men Are Like Panties

They're for pussys.
Other girls always have cuter ones.
The good ones are rarely cheap.
Sometimes it can take a while to find one you like.
And if you do find one you really like, that's the one that always gets lost in the wash.
When they're really good, they're eatable.
Sometimes, they grab you in all the wrong spots, (those are probably the cheap ones).
If they're too small, it might be time for a new pair....
You have to change them often.
But sometimes, that's all I want to be wearing.
And hell- they like to be on, but rarely last for very long.

Wow. Sorry mom for the inappropriateness, but you know some of it's funny ;)

Moved To Vegas

Woke up an hour before my flight yesterday, ended up making it to the airport 15 minutes before take off, but for free, they bumped me to a later flight. I ended up getting a direct flight and making it to Vegas 3 hours earlier than planned.. Well played! A roomate picked me up, we hung out at a gorgeous condo on the strip, then took my stuff to my new place 4 miles from the strip. I took a nap, woke up, showered, went downstairs to find three of my roomates playing a $300 hand of poker. Welcome to Vegas.... Then J, my second possible roomate picked me up, and we went to check his place out. Great place, very comfortable, huge closet, and J's really cool...but 10min further from the strip, and only 1 roomate who travels a lot, and I worry about being lonely... So J took me to check out the third possible house- THE Adam Van Wilder's place (Check out his website on life in Vegas @ www.AdamVanWildest.com) who was throwing a huge house party. Adam is the
coolest, but the house wasn't as new, and to move in was going to be over a $1,000. So I'm at the first place, and stoked about my choice! Adam and J's places seem great, and I can't wait to party there! Today one of my roomates asked if I wanted to go to LA and watch a taping of the Conan O'Brien Show... so that's today, we spent the morning driving through the desert, watching the movie Casino on the portable DVD player, now we're in Hollywood... the journey rolls on, VIVA ;)

My Favorite Restraunts In Oregon: The Hotcake House, The Taco House and Helvatia Tavern

MY FAVORITE, AND CLASSIC PLACES TO EAT IN OREGON:

Most of these places I've been going to my whole life, so I can vouch they are the greatest places to eat in Portland!

THE HOT CAKE HOUSE

This is my hands down favorite place to eat in Oregon, thus it must come first. My dad has lived right up the street from this place, almost my whole life, so I've been going since I was just a tot. The man in the below picture has been working there for 27 years, this guy is The Hot Cake House. This place has amazing food, decent prices, it's just a short distance from downtown and open 24 hours. Obviously the perfect after clubbing munchies spot, or next morning hang over recovery center :) It's perfect anytime of the day. I love this place so hard.

Can't miss this sign
Um... Yes please!
Are you kidding me with this shit?! Do you SEE those biscuts and gravy in the background?!

THE ORIGINAL TACO HOUSE
After The Hot Cake house, just scoot up the road to my other favorite house, The Original Taco House. This place is money. Grew up not far from this place, so another place I've been going to since diapers. And once you see the below taco salad, you'll understand why. This place is my favorite in the winter with it's big fireplace you can cozy up to. Oregon does have some amazing Mexican food, and this is one of the best! Be sure to get some cinnamond things for dessert!! :)

TACO SALAD!!!

HELVASIA TAVERN
Talking about places not fucking around, Helvasia Tavern. I mean, I should have known when we had to drive through 15 min of corn and hay fields, and there were dirtbikes parked out front. If that wasn't a dead giveaway we weren't in Kansas anymore, the menu with three things on it (well, maybe a few more but...) this places isn't fucking around with their burgers. For an aspiring vegetarian, I could be a complete vegetarian if it weren't for damn burgers. I love burgers. Thus I like to think of myself as a burger, maybe not conosur, but lover definitly. That being said, the best burger I've ever had. Yeah, I went there. I said it. I hope you'll take me seriously, and make the huck out to Helvasia (near Hilsboro) for the best damn burger and onion rings on this planet.

RC sign and dirtbikes, really? Here's your sign they serve PBR on tap, and take cash only. But don't let that deter you!
Um, yeah.....
My kind of place.

Song Of The Week

Be sure to check out other music by Tiki Tane, my new favorite artist!

My Favorite Bars/Clubs In Portland: The Departure, Aura, Henry's, and Dukes

MUST SEE EVENING HOT SPOTS IN PORTLAND, OREGON

Below are pictures and reviews of my favorite places I've been to in the last three weeks here in Portland. I hope you enjoy, and at some point get to visit, all of the below places :)

AURA

Yeah, this club had to go first. It was the first club I went to (as a mater of fact only a few hours after I got off the plane here :) and it is the club I have been to the most often since I've been here. Aura is awesome. That's why I'm having my birthday party there, Duh! You know it's bad when you've been here three weeks, and the bouncers recognize you. "Hey how's it going! You're brother coming?!" As you give them a hug, then walk by the line waiting outside, in the back door, and straight up to the VIP. Can't say I've ever done that with a group full of guys and been the only girl, but I did at this club. All because of the amazing John Kim. He works there and has been one of the most well connected , and most accommodating people I've met in Portland. If you come to Portland, contact my brother, John, or my new BF Matty, and I guarantee you will have a good time. Back to Aura, so obviously if John works here, it's the hottest place to be :) See pics below to solidify this fact.

Ummm... yes.
View from the upstairs
But beware when wearing a dress upstairs, you never know who's downstairs, and who wears underwear these days...

HENRY'S

This place is a great pre-party spot, thus, Henry's is where we'll before Aura on Friday for my birthday party :) It's a really chill, laid back place, tons of local beer on tap, and great food. Not to mention the wait staff should open their own modeling agency. Let's just say they're easy on the eyes. PLUS, the ice ledge on the bar. You may think this is trivial, but to a drinker, this is an epic detail. Think Cold Stone Creamery slab for your booze. Brilliant. Plus it's just blocks to Aura. Obviously, you should check this place out.

The infamous, and amazing gorgonzola fries
Cold drink all night?! I like it.
Too bad they don't have any beer on tap...
My favorite picture of my brother and I

THE DEPARTURE
This gem of a lounge sitting on top of the newly renovated Nine's hotel overlooks all of downtown Portland. Comparatively to the bars I've been to around the world, it's not the greatest. But for Portland, The Departure is unheard of. Swanky, laid back, amazing view, the kind of lounge I would have never thought my hometown could ever evolve to producing. It's funny because when talking to people that live here, very few have been to The Departure, which I don't understand. Perhaps it hasn't caught on? Perhaps Portland's not ready for a place you can't wear tennis shoes to?! None the less, with no cover, $7 Long Islands, and unvanquishable view, it's definitely one of the places to see and been seen in Portland.

Inside the lounge
Outside, rooftop view. So much more beautiful at night!
My brother and I dressed to the Nines :)

DUKES

Wow, were to begin with this one. I had to save Duke's for last, because it might be my favorite. And let me tell you why: 5 minutes after I walked into this wonderful shit show of a country bar for the first time, Wee Man walked by me. Oh yes, Wee Man. Pretty much you know you're in the right place when his 2ft ass walks by you and no one even flinches. I have partied in Guam, Hawaii, Miami, New York, DC and I have never been to anything like this! Let me explain: line dancing, Wranglers, mechanical bull, these people aren't fucking around. I mean $1.75 well drinks and PBR on tap?!? Yes. When you come in the door, show your ID, get your stamp, the tramp at the front door asks you "Jager shot?" Um...YES. If that doesn't convince you, the below pics hopefully will persuade you to make the huck out to Gresham to see this one of a kid bar.

Packed every night I've been!!
Cowboy hat, flannel shirt, American flag in the background. Pretty much, nuff said.
Wow.
My brother and I at my first visit, taken by the Duke's official photog

A special thank you to my brother for being so well connected, and knowing all the hot spots to take me to. Thank you Dangle!! :)
