Crazy picture of me in Emore' J Coture

It's events like this that make me realize how fortunate I am. Fortunate to be asked to be involved in events like this, and fortunate not only to get to work with some of the most talented people in the industry, but to get to call some of them my friends :)

That being said, I had a fucking blast last night! The day started early at Ginger's (Booshie Design) helping get things together for the show. Once at Artomatic, if you haven't been to there, it's awesome, nine floors of diverse art, all free to the community! Make up artist extraordinaire, Warren was sweet enough to agree to do come and do my makeup, and hair but ended up a.) getting mobbed, and b.) putting on a clinic for everyone. He is so flipping talented, we worked together in my 2nd photo shoot ever (blog post here) and I've been dying to work with him again. For some fluke he agreed to come, but he was such a big hit, and after models saw my make up, they started to crowd him, and stand around watching. He's a master. Not only does he do make up, he's a hair artist, and was so sweet to check in with me after each pass and touch up my hair! Can't wait to work with him again, before he gets swooped up by someone like Beyonce :)

The show's designers kinda felt like a Washington White Party reunion, all my favorite's were there: Heydari, Emore' J Couture, and Mr. William's collection, Corjor. I was privileged enough to be asked to be in all of their passes again and Booshie Design!!(you can see me walk in Emore's collection from the white party here) Danny, who has seen me walk in every runway show I've done, said it was my best runway show yet! Not to mention I received 5 snaps from people after the show (ex "you were fiieerrrce girl" snap* snap*) There was a great turnout, Viceral Photography taking pics, a beautiful runway, and Bo, Chris and Ali were all there to watch :)
Stay posted for Danny's pics!

Bo Zhang's Sweet Candid Shots

Swwweet shots of Chris and I thanks to Mr. Bo Himself! Who, somehow snuck these wonderful pictures. The one's of Chris and I are from a lovely afternoon we had lunch with Bo in Old Town Alexandria. The one of Chris alone is from The DC Photo Co-Op Meeting on the Chesapeake Bay. Though I'm half torn between the top picture of us looking like a sweet ass Macy's ad, and the bottom pic of us looking like first class assholes. Which might be true :) Not to mention the wicked Nautica type shot in the middle! What can I say, as always, Bo has done it again! See you when I get back from NY!

Chris' New NOSE!!

This afternoon, Chris got the stints taken out, stitches and bandages removed, and his new nose reveled!! Can you imagine, he has had a deviated septum his whole life, so when they took the stints out, it was the first time he had ever really been able to really breath!! A success, and what a nice looking schnozzz! :)

Chris' Nose Surgery

(ode to my favorite fine art photographer, Thomas Ruff )
but as you can see his nose use to slightly bend to the left

Chris and his head surgin, Chris (Dr. Cote)

Him prior the morphine...

...and post :)

after surgery

those damn green socks with the sticky tabs on the bottom... you know what I'm talking about

Exhausting couple of days! Yesterday was 12 hours at Walter Reed Medical Center while Chris got his nose surgery. Well, he actualy got an open septorrhinoplasty with alar rim graft placement, bilaterally, untilateral right spreader graft placement, caudal septal extension graft, right dorsal onlay graft, transdomal sutures placed, with left conchal bowl cartlage harvesting.... actually I think that's on the menu at Mc Donalds .... No, but in layman's terms, he can't breath well out of his nose because of a deviated septum, this was to fix that. He actually got one done about 6 years ago, and they not only botched it, but also made his nose crocked. So this is the second try. But with nationally renowned Dr. Chris Cote (who worked on the US's first face transplant, great doctor!).

But it was a long day.We ended up getting home around 9pm last night (got there at 6am)Once home I had to wake him up every 3 hours to drain his nose and give him his meds. I didn't sleep well a. waking up every couple hours and b. for fear he would bleed to death (he had to be rushed to the ER 16 hours after his last surgery due to bleeding). But, thank goodness, he made it through the night and today was doing surprisingly well! He ate, sat up, was even able to clean his own nose! But I had to go to work today, on top of my, maybe 2 good hours of sleep, so it's been a long couple of days.... Again tonight with the meds every 3 hours...I'm going to have to get some sleep some time. He get's the cast off next Tuesday, so stay posted! :)
