A Week Out In Portland

Work during the day, raging the hottest clubs in town at night. Special thanks to Robert John at Dirty Nightclub, Tim Batchelor of Batch Foto, Joey of PTL nightlife, Josh of Napkin Nights, and Helen for taking all the amazing pics. xoxox
(Ps you can click on a pic to see it full size :)

Bar XV For Cinco Di Mayo

My favorite party of the week is Wednesday nights at Bar XV IN Night Life hosts and Dj Tj usualy spins

Since I just got back from New York, while there I bought Tash and I matching shirts.

Of course we weren't drinking those bottles. They were just props.

My fav pic of the weekend. Says it all!
(Me, Tash, Kevin, Tj, and Helen)

Ha! I love the crazy look in Helen's eyes!!!

Tash and I. My mullet looks awwweesome.

Friday Night @ Urban Studio For The Casino Royale Party

(Special thank you to Josh, and Amir for getting us in)

Tash and I tried to dress in theme...

Then Dirty Nightclub

Had to get casual and take the tie off

Had to say hi to Portland's best rapper, and IN's Dr Mayo

Saturday Night At Aura Dj Tj Spinning
(special thank you to Andy and John Kim for getting us in)

My favorite pic!!!
Also shows another of silly Helen's faces :)
and duh I'm dancing to Tj spinning Drake's Pursuit of Happiness

Tim took this cute pic of Dirty's Photographer, Robert John.
Then Bar XV

Had to stop in to hear Dj Wicked. Who we went to see the night before at Goodfoot.

Then to Dirty Nightclub

Had to hear the epic Jimmy Z spin in the techno room

Seamless Sundays @ Stars Bridgeport

After a week of parting like Tash and I do, we decided to take it casual. Plus we're gangster so we wear sweats to the club. obviously.

Sundays are always a blast here, Tj spinning techno, and hanging out with The Ninjas :)

So, a proper recap of my favorite and the hottest clubs in Portland. For only being here five months, I am so thankful to all the friends I've made here.

A Day In The Life

A day in the life of me: good food and local hot spots. Ship it.

Saw this wondering around today. If you know me, you would know I only have about 5 words in my vocabulary. One in which I picked up living in Vegas: ship it. And it's so fitting for the awesomeness I'm about to talk about below...

First stop of the day is at mi amore, Voo Doo Doughnuts for a, below, maple bacon bar ($2.50 each). I probably go twice a week for one of these babies. If you don't know about these, you should.

My favorite Korean, and one of Portland's best club promoters, John Kim (definitely follow him on Twitter) is always talking about Koi Fusion. And if Mr. Kim says it's good, it must be.

Me and my shit mullet in all it's glory with the world famous, John Kim

So a block away from Voo Doo I ran into the highly talked about
Koi Fusion truck. I felt like I found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!! :o
So of course I ordered a handful of these wonderful jewels (only $3 each)! If you ever get the chance, find this truck!!

Eating all this delicious food cured my hangover from all the fanfricking-tastic Crown on the rocks I had at Portland City Grill (below) high atop Portland, 30 floors up in the US Bancorp Tower.
I have allllways wanted to go here, and last night I was fortunate enough to get to go! I highly recommend it in Portland it's a chill, romantic beautiful place with an amazing and affordable happy hour!

The epic view from the restaurant

So there you have it. A day in the life of a derelict. But if you want a fun afternoon, all three of these spots are within walking distance, and for less than $20 bucks you can taste some of Portland's finest. Ship it.

Best Events Going On In DC This Weekend!

THURSDAY

Come out tonight and get your cheerleader on! Celebrate with the launch of the 2009/2010 Redskins-cheerleader calendar at Public Bar. Cheerleaders will participate in a fashion show, and there’ll be drink specials. $10 gets you in, and another ten bucks will get you a calendar. Maybe they can sign it with their ass for you. Meh, worth an ask.

If cheerleaders aren't your thing, maybe zombies are. Go out and get your zombie on at Black Cat with AHHHHH, Zombies! in the Red Room. Enjoy zombie drink specials (human blood?) and free zombie movies, hopefully like the gem above, starting at 8 PM tonight.

FRIDAY

Looking for something free to do? The Freer Gallery will screen All About Women Friday at 7 and Sunday at 2. The movie, part of the gallery’s Made in Hong Kong Film Festival, chronicles three modern women chasing love. Free tickets, which are distributed two hours before the show or reserved in advance online (for a small fee), are required.

Enjoy a laid-back Friday evening in the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden with Dixie Power Trio, a Fredericksburg jazz group. The free concert starts at 5 PM.

SATURDAY

For you tennis junkies (is there such a thing?!) watch some high-quality tennis when the Legg Mason Tennis Classic kicks off Saturday. Ten bucks gets you into the first qualifying round.

Saturday night the Black Cat is holding a benefit concert with Run For Cover. Lucky for you, helping out is easy with a great lineup of local bands playing covers of some of their favorite artists. The show starts at 9 and costs $10.

Pick up some cool stuff at DC9’s Binge and Purge rummage sale Saturday starting at 2. Stay for one of Washington’s best dance nights, called Kids. Entry is free before 10, with free forties. Yeah, you read that correctly. They run this shit classy. Cover is $6 after 10.

For those of you a little more fashionable, check out Trios at the Community Life Center located at 825 Yale Avenue Baltimore, Maryland 21229. Doors open at 5:30pm/Show starts at 6:30pm. Tickets available online at www.teroncestyyles.com/events.

And don't forget Saturday's at the Corcoran is FREE, and the Eggleston exhibit is ahhhmazing!

Housewarming Party

Me and my lil sis:
The man, DJ Pete
Me and Faye
The hosts:
The boys playing beer pong
3am, That's how you end a party! :)

Oh how fortunate we are to have such great friends, and what an awesome party! So many talented and wonderful people came out, like my two favorite photographers: Danny (Visceral Photography), and Bo (Boandbro.com), runner up best local DC designer, Ginger (Booshie Designs), model (and pictured above) Faye, and tons of other friends! (If you came and have a website, e-mail me, and I will add you as well :) We had people out back playing games in the huge lawn, people downstairs playing pool and beer pong, and listening to the one of the best local DJ's, DJ Pete (pictured above) and upstairs we had Call of Duty on the PS3. All the while BBQing, and hitting the keg. One hell of a good time! If you couldn't make it, don't worry, there will be more to come! Danny and Bo also took some Polaroids of me, so stay posted for those, and the next big party! :)

Come See Pansy Division Tonight!!

Front man Jon Ginoli playing with his monkey...

Can't wait to see them live!!

I've adored this west coast band since high school, Pansy Division will soon be touring behind its newest release, “That’s So Gay.” (This underground super group broke in the 1980s as an openly gay indie rock band, opening for Green Day on their first major tour!) So be sure to check them out at The Source Theater Tonight, April 20 at 8 pm the band’s frontman Jon Ginoli is touring behind his new autobiography “Deflowered,” he will make a stop at to screen the new documentary “Pansy Division: Life in a Gay Rock Band,” play a couple songs and hold a Q&A with the audience. "And those who really love the guy can meet him as he signs merchandise in the lobby at the end of the night. This is probably the closest you will get to Jon outside of a bedroom , as the chance to be in such tight quarters with a living queer legend doesn’t come along very often." -TheNewGay.com

The Source Theater (1835 14th Street NW) 8 pm. Tickets are $10 and will be available the day of the show.
