Hell Yes I Met Joe Cada.

Above: Joe with the $8.5 mil in cash Below: Joe with me. Pretty much the same thing.

Of course I was hanging out with the biggest celebrity in Vegas, $8.5 million dollar World Series of Poker winner Joe Cada. Duh. He's friends with roomie Adam Van Wildest (read his epic blog post about attending the event here) We were dropping bottles in the VIP he rented out one night, then playing beer pong with him the next.Too bad his 19 year old girlfriend let everyone back to his $5k a night suite at the Rio but me because she was worried he might like me better. Smart girl ;) Meeting celebs in Vegas on the reg, stay posted for the next one!

Best Events Going On In DC This Weekend!

THURSDAY

Come out tonight and get your cheerleader on! Celebrate with the launch of the 2009/2010 Redskins-cheerleader calendar at Public Bar. Cheerleaders will participate in a fashion show, and there’ll be drink specials. $10 gets you in, and another ten bucks will get you a calendar. Maybe they can sign it with their ass for you. Meh, worth an ask.

If cheerleaders aren't your thing, maybe zombies are. Go out and get your zombie on at Black Cat with AHHHHH, Zombies! in the Red Room. Enjoy zombie drink specials (human blood?) and free zombie movies, hopefully like the gem above, starting at 8 PM tonight.

FRIDAY

Looking for something free to do? The Freer Gallery will screen All About Women Friday at 7 and Sunday at 2. The movie, part of the gallery’s Made in Hong Kong Film Festival, chronicles three modern women chasing love. Free tickets, which are distributed two hours before the show or reserved in advance online (for a small fee), are required.

Enjoy a laid-back Friday evening in the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden with Dixie Power Trio, a Fredericksburg jazz group. The free concert starts at 5 PM.

SATURDAY

For you tennis junkies (is there such a thing?!) watch some high-quality tennis when the Legg Mason Tennis Classic kicks off Saturday. Ten bucks gets you into the first qualifying round.

Saturday night the Black Cat is holding a benefit concert with Run For Cover. Lucky for you, helping out is easy with a great lineup of local bands playing covers of some of their favorite artists. The show starts at 9 and costs $10.

Pick up some cool stuff at DC9’s Binge and Purge rummage sale Saturday starting at 2. Stay for one of Washington’s best dance nights, called Kids. Entry is free before 10, with free forties. Yeah, you read that correctly. They run this shit classy. Cover is $6 after 10.

For those of you a little more fashionable, check out Trios at the Community Life Center located at 825 Yale Avenue Baltimore, Maryland 21229. Doors open at 5:30pm/Show starts at 6:30pm. Tickets available online at www.teroncestyyles.com/events.

And don't forget Saturday's at the Corcoran is FREE, and the Eggleston exhibit is ahhhmazing!

What great spread shot by Alexei Hay!! He also did Elle's May cover of Drew Barrymore that I loved! But I don't know what to say about these pics besides they are hot. And make me want to do a swimsuit photo shoot. :) Hopefully I'll get some sweet shots at the below meet up, but I love this spread!

Chris' Nose Surgery

(ode to my favorite fine art photographer, Thomas Ruff )
but as you can see his nose use to slightly bend to the left

Chris and his head surgin, Chris (Dr. Cote)

Him prior the morphine...

...and post :)

after surgery

those damn green socks with the sticky tabs on the bottom... you know what I'm talking about

Exhausting couple of days! Yesterday was 12 hours at Walter Reed Medical Center while Chris got his nose surgery. Well, he actualy got an open septorrhinoplasty with alar rim graft placement, bilaterally, untilateral right spreader graft placement, caudal septal extension graft, right dorsal onlay graft, transdomal sutures placed, with left conchal bowl cartlage harvesting.... actually I think that's on the menu at Mc Donalds .... No, but in layman's terms, he can't breath well out of his nose because of a deviated septum, this was to fix that. He actually got one done about 6 years ago, and they not only botched it, but also made his nose crocked. So this is the second try. But with nationally renowned Dr. Chris Cote (who worked on the US's first face transplant, great doctor!).

But it was a long day.We ended up getting home around 9pm last night (got there at 6am)Once home I had to wake him up every 3 hours to drain his nose and give him his meds. I didn't sleep well a. waking up every couple hours and b. for fear he would bleed to death (he had to be rushed to the ER 16 hours after his last surgery due to bleeding). But, thank goodness, he made it through the night and today was doing surprisingly well! He ate, sat up, was even able to clean his own nose! But I had to go to work today, on top of my, maybe 2 good hours of sleep, so it's been a long couple of days.... Again tonight with the meds every 3 hours...I'm going to have to get some sleep some time. He get's the cast off next Tuesday, so stay posted! :)

I'm Going To Be In The Official Washington White Party Fashion Show!!

Crystal City Doubletree Hotel (that dome on top is where the after party will be)

View from the Sky Dome. Yes that IS the Washington Monument. :)

I submitted my portfolio last week to audition for The Washington White Party Fashion Show. Thankfully, I was asked to come in to Heydari on Friday for an invite only audition! There I had the pleasure of meeting
Ean Williams, the director of DC Fashion Week (just one of his many accomplishments). I walked for him, then he had his photographers, from FooCheug.com, snap a few pictures (the above). But the great news, is they just e-mailed me and I got asked to be in the show!! :) The annual event will highlight innovative fashion designers and model talent. It will be on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the beautiful Crystal City Doubletree Hotel, in Arlington, VA. You better believe I will be at the model after-party in the above Sky Dome! But don't worry, you can come too! : ) Tickets go on sale soon.

"This first class event's list of invitees includes magazines, agency representatives, fashion photographers and talent management companies. They know we secure some of the best model talent the east coast has to offer."

That was the conclusion to their e-mail. It's going to be a great event, and I'm so excited to be involved in it! The designer fittings will be soon, so stay posted! :)

Come See Pansy Division Tonight!!

Front man Jon Ginoli playing with his monkey...

Can't wait to see them live!!

I've adored this west coast band since high school, Pansy Division will soon be touring behind its newest release, “That’s So Gay.” (This underground super group broke in the 1980s as an openly gay indie rock band, opening for Green Day on their first major tour!) So be sure to check them out at The Source Theater Tonight, April 20 at 8 pm the band’s frontman Jon Ginoli is touring behind his new autobiography “Deflowered,” he will make a stop at to screen the new documentary “Pansy Division: Life in a Gay Rock Band,” play a couple songs and hold a Q&A with the audience. "And those who really love the guy can meet him as he signs merchandise in the lobby at the end of the night. This is probably the closest you will get to Jon outside of a bedroom , as the chance to be in such tight quarters with a living queer legend doesn’t come along very often." -TheNewGay.com

The Source Theater (1835 14th Street NW) 8 pm. Tickets are $10 and will be available the day of the show.

CERN Collider Off Until Spring

Damages were caused last Friday to the Large Hadron Collider when an electrical connection between two magnets melted. The damages plus CERN's yearly winter break will push back the collision of atoms until March or April.... Well, looks like we won't be dying from antimatter until next spring. That's nice.

BREAKING NEWS!

Well, this morning is full of surprises. Lindsey Lohan and Samantha Ronson are, and have been, 'dating for a very long time.' Linds finally confirmed it. Who would have guessed. Another shocker, don't fall out of your chair- Clay Aken is gay. He confessed in today's issue of People Magazine. Apparently his baby's momma Jaymes Foster, a record producer, is just a friend. Man I love when I'm on top of such breaking news.....

Today's Depressing News

Leham Bro after a 158 year run, filled for bankruptcy, causing 25,000 around the world to loose their jobs. Myrill Lynch sells out to Bank of America. The Dow ended Friday down 10 points. Read more depressing wall street news here. Gas has rose to over $5 in some parts of the country. Overnight, gasoline prices nationwide rose an average of more than 6 cents. That followed another 6-cent jump between Friday and Saturday. Read more here. And Ike, oh my goodness, 30 are dead, and thousands are left homeless and stuck in shelters. Wow, good morning America. This depressing news has inspired me to get involved. Sitting here bitching isn't going to change anything, and true I can't change the world. But maybe I can do a little good here locally. I looked into two great volunteer sites, if you don't know about them check out the links:
Bread For The City
DC Humane Society
If we could all do a little something, maybe we could make a big change.

End Of The World On My B-Day?

So, couldn't they have picked another day for the world to get swallowed by a black hole? I realize these assholes think that $10 billion dollar piece of shit, the Large Hadron Collider will help understand the origins and evolution of the universe. But it would be nice if they wouldn't big bang up my birthday. I've got some parting to do and I can't do that if I'm being deteriorated by antimatter. MSNBC says it's "designed to probe mysteries ranging from dark matter and missing antimatter to the existence of extra, unseen dimensions in space." Well, I guess we have until October 21st until the first high-energy collisions are planned.....That's nice. I say spend the $10 bills on starving people. But hey, let's create a black hole instead.

My New Car

Finaly, my new car the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport is out! And, don't worry, it only goes 250 mph (well, 225 with the top down, and that's how we ride) so I won't be getting into any trouble. And at the low cost of just over 2 mill, how can I resist. For the rest of you put your deposites down, only 150 will be made!

Sound good to you? Would you trade a sibling in for that sweet ride? Laugh your ass off and read what other's had to say when I asked them:

Dr. Dre's Son, HOOD SURGEON, Found Dead

Curtis Young Jr. who was named after his father, was found dead in his bed Saturday by his mother at their home in suburban Woodland Hills. There were no signs of trama. In May 2007 Young released his first album, titled, ironically, "Hood Surgeon: the Autopsy of Curtis Young Young Jr." The cause of death won't likely be determined for eight weeks while toxicology tests are done.
